Whew...what a week!

This is it! The secret project for Mrs. Dodd. Each Kindergartener made his/her own quilt square and I sewed it up. They chose star fabric for the sides because they had a "star teacher," heart fabric for the top and bottom because they love Mrs. Dodd, and then stripes and dots because it's bright, bold, and fun just like their Kindergarten year! We also included a class picture in the very middle of the quilt bordered with ABC ribbon.

Their anticipation waiting to surprise Mrs. Dodd!

They loved showing Mrs. Dodd their individual squares and explaining why they chose the design etc...

So long room 102. Emma brought home her report card and it said she's been promoted to grade 1. Her Kindergarten teacher was absolutely the best ever and Emma loves school thanks to her. Maybe Mrs. Dodd won't have "the signs" next year! :)

End of the year Kindergarten class party. Emma and Ashley bouncing away!

Matt brought Brady and Ellie to join in the fun. Water balloons are hard to resist.

Ellie's favorite part of the party was the hula hoops and she much preferred to be barefoot.

Okay so the rest of the pictures in this post were taken with my cellphone camera and the quality isn't too high. Having said that, I couldn't resist snapping this shot on my way to the zoo the other day. How many of you have ever seen a truck driving down the road with a chest freezer bound in with bungee cords and a professionally painted sign on the freezer that says "Choice Steaks $3 per cut. Honk if interested and I'll pull over?" I had to take a picture so you'd believe me! :)

Friendly's (a local restaurant chain) had free ice cream day this week and my kids could hardly lick fast enough. I'm pretty sure the pavement ate the same amount of ice cream as my kids. Free and 2 scoops - not shabby! They also painted faces and handed out goody bags! We're all about free fun in our family! Brady has now decided the Mint Chocolate Chip is his favorite ice cream flavor.
Here's Ellie doused in water trying to stay cool in our 90+ (with 100% humidity) at our very impromptu yard sale on Friday. Despite our limited signs and with only a Craig's list advertisement, we still managed to make $245.00 - so though we were quite toasty, we were also very happy with the results.
I tell you there was free fun to be found everyday this week. Our local police department teamed up with Home Depot, Toys R Us, and Target and sponsored a huge Bike Rodeo. The kids received new bike helmets, a safety helmet check, a bike inspection with free repair, learned bike maneuvers, hand signals, received lots and lots of loot, and enjoyed riding through all the courses. They also loved their free Hot Dog and Bottled water lunch! We did however forget the stroller, so we had to keep chasing Ellie who thought the bike courses were her own personal jogging paths. Toddlers are so fast....and their parents are so darn slow... :)

Hey, I've done a little research and we've decided that we will drive straight from Snowflake to Tucson on Sunday. It will cut off about an hour of drive time (compared to going home first)...anyways, it will be all of us. We have enough room for you and Emma still. After we pick you up it will take about 2 hours to get home...you guys are going to be exhausted! We will probably get to Tucson a little bit early and have dinner or something before we pick you up. What time do you think you'll be ready with your luggage and stuff?
